Why is so important a Digital Designer in house?
After 7 years dealing with Marketing Directors, CEO, Chairman, Graphic Designers and Developers while building a website, application or just a simple Diagram I realized the importance of having a Digital Designer or becoming one to save the day by day tasks as a project by contract or as a permanent job.
In the Visual, Graphic and Design world a Digital Designer is a combination of skills (imaging, coding, animation, illustration and branding, among others) often I found recruiters or clients asking me what I feel myself closer to; Design or Developing? And I feel something like -Do you feel like the beauty or the beast? My answer is simple, 'I am a Hybrid!'.
Developers look up for functionalities but very often forget that we 'Human Beings' are just that, humans, not a robot that simply scan a browser looking for his/her needs. We all look for the beauty and we all get really impressed when we find something that works and looks amazing. On the other hand, there are Graphic Designers that often forget that, even if we are not robots, the web is a visual experience, not just a magazine or a static reflection of words and colours. Interaction is a merge between what I click and what I expect to see in the next stage, while browsing the web, application or any other feature that require our eyes and hands to play.
What ever in the world you feel more attracted to, it is important to research about the things you feel don't really have the knowledge about and to listen to the people that is passionate about their work.
